First, we will talk about setting up and configuring the headset. Once the headset is unpacked, follow the steps below to do the initial setup.

• Fully charge the Plantronics Voyager Focus UC B825 headset. Even though the device does have some charge out of the box, it is highly recommended to fully charge it before first use.
• The headset has a 5 level LED indicators which indicate the current charge. Ensure all 5 LED lights are lit up before initial usage.
• The headset comes with a pre-paired USB adaptor which when connected to a PC or MAC will automatically connect to your headset.
• If you want to connect your headset with a Smartphone, Tablet or any other Bluetooth compatible device, then you would need to manually pair the device.
• Additional call controls need to be configured using the Plantronics Hub software.

Plantronics claims that using the USB Bluetooth gives you a better sound & voice experience when compared with a direct connection. 2. To pause music when you place or receive calls, go to Start menu > Control Panel > Sound >
   Communications tab and select the desired parameter.

Plantronics, a global audio and communications company, today launched two new headsets India; the Voyager Focus UC aimed at enterprises and the BackBeat Sense for consumers.

The Voyager Focus UC is priced at Rs 18,999 and the BackBeat Sense costs Rs 9,999 and both are lightweight, Bluetooth headphones. In case of the Voyager Focus UC, there’s an extended microphone boom as well.

“BackBeat Sense headphones are aimed at millennials in India, the ones who are constantly connected to their smartphones, mobiles and listening to music. These light-weight headphones are optimised for people who are constantly on the go,” says Bobby Joseph, Senior Country Director, Plantronics India and Middle East.

BackBeat Sense

BackBeat Sense headphones come with built-in smart sensors which automatically pause music when a user slips them off, lets users automatically take a call on phone or put it on mute when they take the headphones off.

The headphones come with a built-in microphone and stream music up to 100 metres. Plantronics is promising 18 hours of battery life on a single charge.

Where sound quality goes, the headphones have “Signature Plantronics” audio and dynamic drivers to offer a rich bass, crisp highs, and natural midtones for music lovers.

The headphones are also equipped with dual-mics and allow for voice communications on Skype calls, etc as well. Plantronics has armed the BackBeat Sense with an OpenMic technology to ensure that users can listen to what others outside might be saying, by just pressing a button on the headphones.

BlackBeat Sense have fold-flat earcups which are lined with memory foam and weigh 140g. The headphones work with two smartphones or tablets simultaneously. These headphones are available in two styles—Black/Espresso and White/Tan.

Voyager Focus UC

Voyager Focus UC headset is aimed at work environment, enterprise users, and come with active noise-cancellation (ANC) technology. The headset comes with similar features to the BlackBeat Sense in addition to the ANC and extra microphone.

Plantronics says Voyager Focus UC provides superior audio on both sides of the call. The ANC reduces environmental sounds , says the company.

“We tried to think of every collaboration challenge and built a solution that solves for them. We created a premium design that will convey confidence and competence during a video call. We’ve used sensors and context to adapt the user experience to the wearing style and state so it just works as expected,” says Joseph.

The Voyager Focus UC also has Class 1 Bluetooth range till 45 metres, a “Dynamic Mute Alert” which alerts user if the mute function is still active and the headset automatically mutes when a user takes it off and unmutes when it’s put back on. Like the BackBeat Sense, Voyager Focus UC has on-board sensors.
